Welcome to the Save Festival Park web site!

We are a group of concerned citizens who want to preserve Festival Park.

While we support a museum downtown, we do not think that the park is the place for it.

Thank you for  viewing our site and supporting our efforts.

Aug 21: Questions Raised about MOA Finances

An article in the Fayetteville Observer reports that members of the City Council are concerned about the MOA ability to raise and manage funds.

Quote from article: "In the 2005-06 budget year, the museum overspent by $43,101. ...Museum officials have had to improve their record-keeping and accounting procedures since the 2006-07 audit was released in January. The auditor — Cherry, Bekaert & Holland of Fayetteville — said cash balances didn’t reconcile with year-end bank records; payroll tax expenses were being understated; and salaries and wages reported on the books varied from the totals on payroll records."
